Youth Engagement Volunteer Opportunity
Saturday, March 7; 10:30-12:00

Global Engineering Conference
Saturday, March 7 in Hamilton
McMaster's EWB chapter is hosting a Global Engineering Conference with great sessions and guest speakers including Boris Martin, CEO of EWB Canada. Tickets are $10 and a handful of us will be driving down together on the day. If you are interested in attending please contact Kai Chen <chen.w.93@gmail.com>.

Food Systems / Art Auctions Booth at the Covent Garden Market
Sunday, March 8
We will be setting up a booth to talk to the London community about food systems, EWB, and Art Auction. Keep this date in mind as we will need volunteers!

Art Auction Volunteer Meeting
Sunday, March 15, time TBD
We will be having a meeting to organize all Art Auction volunteers; keep this date in mind! There will also be a potluck afterwards!

Global Engineering Competition
Saturday, March 21; 11:00-2:00
We will be hosting our first Global Engineering Competition: "Breath of Fresh Air" for first year students. There will be a global engineering case study and a focus on learning about under-represented engineering disciplines. There will also be great prizes and free lunch! Tell all the first years you know!

Art Auction
Thursday, March 26
Art Auction is our biggest fundraiser event of the year. It is a gala evening featuring art from local London artists as well as guest speakers. Please contact your profs, friends and family to let them know about the event and encourage them to buy a ticket! More information is on the website: http://www.ewbwesternartauction2015.com/

As always, our planning meetings are Tuesday at 5:30 pm in SEB 2094, and Member Learning is Thursday at 5:30 pm in UCC 65.

uwoewb EWB is concerned about the information presented in today's article from the Ottawa Citizen and what this means for Canada's role in the post-2015 development agenda. The decline in the Government of Canada's contribution to ODA points to a troubling trend. This, despite 2015 polling data that shows the majority of Canadians not only believe it's important to improve health, education and economic opportunity for the world's poorest people, but that doing so is our moral obligation as Canadians. EWB would like to see Canada reverse this trend and increase our investment in global poverty reduction with an eye towards the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals.
