Hi everyone!

There are a bunch of interesting updates in this email, so be sure to check them out!

If you haven't already done so, please send Danica all your receipts for conference, including travel (i.e. megabus and greyhound). You can send her the receipts at dmcleo2@uwo.ca

My Fair Valentine

To all first years and anyone else who hasn't volunteered already but would be willing to fair trade needs volunteers for my fair valentine! We will have booths set up between 5-7 on Wednesday and Thursday in all of the residences. All we need our volunteers to do is reach out to those passing by the booths and encourage them to send their friends our fair trade valentines. The tags they need to fill out will be provided and we will hand them out Tuesday. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Food Systems - Composting Initiative

Our Food Systems Team has submitted their proposal to the University to improve Western's composting system! They're going to need lots of help from the chapter as they continue researching and moving forward on this initiative this semester.

A Special Message From Ishan Tikku, VP Ops

Planning an event? Have an idea for something new you want to see the chapter try? Want a little help getting started? Shoot Ishan an email at i.tikku@hotmail.com, or find him at the planning and ML meetings by looking for the outrageously handsome gentleman in the crowd.

EWB Sweaters

If anyone is in possession of an EWB sweater with visible defects, please bring it to the planning meeting on Tuesday.

The planning meeting will be at 5:30 on Tuesday in SEB 2094. Member Learning will happen at 5:30 on Thursday in UCC 65.

uwoewb EWB is concerned about the information presented in today's article from the Ottawa Citizen and what this means for Canada's role in the post-2015 development agenda. The decline in the Government of Canada's contribution to ODA points to a troubling trend. This, despite 2015 polling data that shows the majority of Canadians not only believe it's important to improve health, education and economic opportunity for the world's poorest people, but that doing so is our moral obligation as Canadians. EWB would like to see Canada reverse this trend and increase our investment in global poverty reduction with an eye towards the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals.
