A thought that has come out of the thread related to the Prime Minister's YouTube appearance and Steph Power's question:

It may be interesting for chapters to bring up Harper's response to Steph's question about aid to Africa.

This would be great in order to get Mr. Pearson's point of view, as well as to keep the conversation going among the public.

I've been working on an ESTW webpage (www.estw.ca) which is now just about done-ish thanks to the infamous Sean Boots. Check out the About page for a pretty good (in my humble opinion!) description of the ESTW campaign. Might need some tweaking based in this discussion, but I think it sets up the vision...

Great idea Seth. I would like to hear what Glen has to say, given we just had him here and he is clearly not happy with the current situation of Canadian aid commitments.

Thank you to everyone who voted for our question. I agree with James, the fact that so many Canadians saw it and hopefully thought of Africa for a few minutes is excellent!

I doubt EWB had anything to do with with getting Mr. Pichette to do the interview: he is Google Canada's Chief Financial Officer (Google Canada hosted the event, YouTube being owned by Google). A great connection to have, though!

I'll add some more thoughts later, but quickly I'll just say I think the value is in having got our question into the interview, period.

The Prime Minister more or less used every question as an opportunity to engage the same talking points that he uses most days in interviews and question period....
